Journal Entry 29: Heroes Revisited :)

I searched up the word "hero" in the internet dictionary, Dictionary.com and it says that hero means "a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities". I searched in another internet dictionary, Merriam Webster it says that the word "hero" means "a mythological or legendary figure often of divine descent endowed with great strength or ability". Both dictionaries have different and same meaning for the word "hero". The difference is that in the dictionary, Dictionary.com it is talking about a hero is a man with abilities, while in the dictionary, Merriam Webster it says a hero is a mythological and legendary figure. In both of the dictionaries, it says that a hero has heroic qualities (heroes do brave deeds and heroes have great abilities). I prefer Dictionary.com's definition better because in Dictionary.com's definition, it says that heroes do brave deeds and I think that is true and in Merriam Webster's definition, it says that heroes are mythological or a legendary figure but I think that heroes can be a real person not a made up person. If I could change the definition I would say heroes can be a woman, not only a man or a made up person. In my own way, I would say that a hero can be anyone that does good things that help other people, not like borrowing people a pencil, which helped them, but like helping people get out of danger and something like that.
